Jesus Came to End the Silence of Loneliness

Jeremiah Ramer - 12/7/2025

In week two of the Christmas series, Pastor Jeremiah opened with the gripping true story of Steve Callahan — a sailor who spent 76 days adrift in the Atlantic after his boat sank — and his stunning revelation that it wasn't starvation or the fear of death that hurt the most; it was the loneliness. That story became the launch pad for a message about the epidemic at the heart of the modern world: in an age more connected than ever, loneliness is worse than any addiction crisis. Drawing from Isaiah 7:14 and a series of New Testament encounters, he made the case that Jesus consistently and deliberately sought out the most isolated people in the world, not the respectable ones. The name Immanuel says it all: God with us is the whole point.
