In one of the most wide-ranging messages of the Genesis series, Pastor Jeremiah uses the Tower of Babel to expose the oldest human impulse — choosing self over God — and challenge the church to examine the towers they're still building today. Moving through Genesis 11:1–9, he unpacks why God scattered the people: not out of fear, but because a humanity unified around its own fame and glory was a humanity hell-bent on destruction. The message ends with a quote from the late Voddie Baucham — "The gospel doesn't require obedience from us, it produces obedience in us" — and the closing challenge: you don't get to come to God on your own terms; you just throw yourself at his mercy.
