Jesus Sees You

Hunger comes in many different shapes and sizes.
Some people are just plain and simply physically hungry.
Some people are emotionally hungry.
Some are hungry for acceptance.
Some are hungry for purpose.
Some are hungry for peace.
Some are hungry for forgiveness.
Some are hungry for hope.
And some people, maybe even most people, are just spiritually hungry.
Spiritually hungry people keep trying to fill that emptiness with another relationship...another promotion...another vacation...another purchase...
another achievement.
The disciples looked at the crowd and saw a problem. But “Jesus looked at the exact same crowd...and saw people he loved.”
Matthew 14:13-14: As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns. Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
Matthew 28:18-20: “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.”
Did you notice that “Before Jesus fed the crowd, he felt their hunger.”
Matthew 14:15-21: That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves. “But Jesus said, “That isn’t necessary—you feed them.” “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!” they answered. “Bring them here,” he said. Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children!
And today, we're going to begin with one simple truth, “Jesus sees hungry people.”
Here's what I hope every one of us discovers before we leave today: “Whatever you're hungry for...Jesus sees you.”
“And if Jesus sees you…He won’t send you away.”
“Jesus would rather perform a miracle than tell hungry people to go somewhere else.”
What about you?
Can you see what Jesus sees? Matthew 9:37-38: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
John 6:35: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
Matthew 14:17: “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!”
John 6:7-9: “Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!” Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?”

Galatians 6:9: “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
